At fourteen years old, I found out my spine curved like a question mark. And for a long time, so did my sense of worth.
They called it scoliosis. To me, it felt like shame in physical form. An uncomfortable twist that made me feel like my body was wrong.
So, I responded the way many of us do when we feel defective: I hid.
