Did you know you have the potential to bring thousands of new leads into your world by repurposing your content for Pinterest? Yes, I highly recommend taking what you’re creating for your blog, emails, and social media and reformatting them for Pinterest.

The key here is understanding that Pinterest is a search engine, not a social media platform. It isn’t necessarily a place for you to build trust with people who are already aware of your brand name. Pinterest is more so a platform that reaches new leads that you might have taken longer to reach on other platforms.

Keep in mind that historically Pinterest has been a female-focused search engine. Not trying to stereotype, it’s just the truth. Generally speaking, you’re going to have a greater chance of reaching women than men when you create content for Pinterest.

Using Pinterest as a Search Engine for Your Business

Back to this idea of Pinterest being more of a search engine than a social platform…yes, it’s great when people click on your pins and save them to their boards for future reference.

But the real magic happens when they’re so interested in learning more that they click on the link that brings them to your website. Now, they’re that much closer to purchasing your product, booking your service, or joining your program.

But this can only happen if the words included in the Pinterest Pin are optimized for search engines (or SEO-friendly). SEO-friendly Pinterest titles and descriptions include keywords and keyphrases that your target audience searches for on a regular basis.

Before you go wild stuffing a bunch of keywords in your titles and descriptions, keep in mind that Pinterest has character limitations. You Pin title must be 100 characters long, at maximum. Your Pin description must be 500 characters long, at maximum.

Customizing Your Pin Titles

Now that you know your character limits, don’t skimp here. I highly recommend taking up as much space as possible, because every word you write counts toward your brand’s searchability.

You want each Pin title and description to be strategically written, but you don’t have to write drastically different titles or descriptions each time. You can set yourself up with a template. For example, you can write a standard ending to your title, so you only have to change the first half, depending on the topic of the specific Pin.

Let’s look at my personal brand.

If I want to boost my searchability for these terms:

“Writer”

“Creative”

“Coach”

“Creative Coach”

…then a standard title ending could be “XYZ — Kat Quintana | Writer & Creative Coach.” Another option could be “XYZ — Kat | Creative Coach for Entrepreneurs.” See the pattern?

Adjust this template for your niche, and boom! All you have to do is edit the first half of each Pin title. Yes, since Pinterest is a search engine, the first half of your title should also focus heavily on SEO.

Creating Visually Appealing Pins

Now you understand how to invest plenty of energy toward SEO-friendly writing for Pinterest. But we also can’t forget about images!

When it comes to using Pinterest for small business, aesthetics matter…big time.

Pinterest favors polished content more than TikTok does, and probably even more than Instagram does at this point. On top of simply looking nice, you want your visuals to accurately represent your brand.

Take advantage of the fact that Pinterest is an image-based search engine, unlike Google. Give your audience an accurate first impression of who you are and the customer journey you can provide.

Using Brand Photography for Pinterest Pins

Part of the reason I wanted to share this Pinterest breakdown is because my client has seen awesome results after six months of consistent Pinterest marketing. I will say, her case was special.

She had an automatic advantage because she had a wide range of brand photos that were shot by a professional photographer, not just taken on an iPhone. She had tons of shots of her staff, the inside of her brick-and-mortar business, and her products for sale. She also had action shots of her team delivering their specialty services, so potential clients could picture themselves in that scenario. This made my work easy when it came time to create her Pinterest account from scratch.

But to be honest, you don’t necessarily need to hire a photographer to produce visually appealing Pins.

There are plenty of websites (i.e. Canva and Pixels) where you can download and edit stock images with the proper licensing, so you’re not stealing anyone’s digital property or infringing on a photographer’s copyrights.

DIY Approach to Pinterest Designs

You can enhance the effectiveness of your Pinterest designs by:

incorporating the brand colors that show up throughout your website

clearly writing your website URL on the design

clearly writing your business phone number on the design (if that is part of your call to action)

properly spacing out your words and images for an easy reading experience

Converting Your Pinterest Leads Into Customers

Nice! Between SEO-friendly titles, SEO-friendly descriptions, and visually appealing images, you are on your way to connecting with your ideal customer, client, or student.

Once you get to this point, you want to make sure you inspire the right actions. Be specific about the links you attach to each Pin.

Here are some places you’ll want your Pinterest audience to go:

appointment/call booking pages

service pages

product pages

blog posts

sales pages

about pages

You can also link to social media platforms instead of your website (e.g. send your Pinterest viewer directly to TikTok). But I would do this sparingly, since you have a unique opportunity to draw an audience from an image-centered search engine onto your website, which is (hopefully) 100% representative of your brand.

As long as you’ve written and designed your website in a compelling and on-brand way, then you should be proud to send your Pinterest audience directly to your website the majority of the time.

Longevity of Organic Pinterest Content

Warning: Don’t expect massive amounts of traffic the day of publishing a new Pinterest Pin. You shouldn’t even expect huge results the same week.

But what you can expect is sustained traffic months from now. This type of longevity does *not* happen on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, let me tell ya. So if you’ve never used Pinterest before, your business is about to be pumped about the lifespan of your content – as long as it’s SEO-focused.

With the extended lifespan of Pinterest content in mind, if your business celebrates specific holidays or seasonal deals, start planning your content a few weeks or months in advance. The sooner you post about an event or milestone that’s happening, say 3 months from now, the sooner Pinterest can start working its magic and circulating your Pin at the correct moment.

Best of luck with using Pinterest for small business growth! And if you need support, I’ll be here.

The other day a friend told me that Linktree straight up isn’t his vibe. He can’t stand it, in the same way I can’t stand olives, capers, and sun-dried tomatoes.

And that’s totally okay. But when he said that I laughed, since I built katquintana.com/links as my personal take on Linktree.

It suits my needs, but what about yours?

If you’re looking to share multiple links with your audience in a user-friendly vertical menu style, it could be a game-changer. But beyond that, there are numerous ways to attract new leads and convert them into loyal customers, clients, or students.

Let’s look at 6 simple ways to get more leads to your website and help future customers learn about your offers.

Heads up: If your website is one of the main places where people can learn about your products, services, programs, and prices…and/or if it’s the only place where people can book appointments with you…

…it’s time to get more eyes on that website!

But if your only online presence is on social media, then these options might not be relevant to you.

Share Links in Direct Messages (DMs)

One subtle yet effective strategy is to share your website links directly through DMs. The key is to avoid coming across as spammy or unhelpful. Engage with your audience in a genuine manner, addressing their specific needs and interests when sharing links.

For example, a few weeks ago a brand new Instagram follower sent me a DM, asking if it was too late to register for my content marketing workshop. At that point it was too late, but I told her there was another workshop coming up in a few weeks.

As soon as I updated the Calendly link for that workshop, I shared the link with that new lead via DM. She expected it. She wanted it. It wasn’t a spammy situation.

Utilize Instagram Stories Link Sticker

Another great way to get more website leads is to leverage Instagram’s Stories feature. Basically, you’re going to use the link Stories sticker to direct traffic to your website. Make sure that your Stories content provides context for the link sticker, making it more appealing and relevant to your followers.

Optimize Your Instagram Bio

Enhance your Instagram bio by adding multiple website links or creating a Linktree-inspired page to make navigation easier for your audience. Visit katquintana.com/links for an illustration.

Incorporate Links in Email Marketing

Email marketing remains a powerful tool in your arsenal. When sending out broadcasts to your email list, include website links tailored to your message. Create visually appealing links in your emails using your brand’s colors and fonts to increase click-through rates.

Harness the Potential of Paid Advertising

If your marketing strategy includes paid search or social advertising, capitalize on this by directing your audience to specific website links after capturing their attention. Paid advertising allows you to reach a highly targeted audience, increasing the likelihood of converting leads into customers.

Just keep in mind that it’s helpful to first test out your advertisements by sharing organic content.

Boost Organic Traffic with Blogging

Blogging, despite its minimal cost, can yield substantial results in the long run. By creating content optimized with highly searched keywords and keyphrases, you can attract organic traffic over time.

Consistency in publishing quality blog posts is key to building your online presence and authority in your niche. Plus SEO. Always incorporate SEO in one way or another!

What We Covered

In a digital landscape where your website serves as the primary hub for showcasing your offerings and facilitating interactions, it’s crucial to drive more traffic to your site.

However, if your online presence is primarily on social media, the strategies I touched on may not be as relevant to your specific situation.

Experiment with these methods to get more website leads, and find the right mix that suits your unique business goals and audience. Have fun!

As a savvy entrepreneur, you already know that building a thriving business involves more than just offering a fantastic product or service. It’s about connecting with your audience, building trust, and providing value well before the dollars start rolling in. That’s where blogging comes into play, and let me tell you, it’s no longer just a hobby for bored millennials looking to vent.

Let’s quickly explore why blogging is a must for any entrepreneur in the digital age.

Blogging Speeds Up Your Web Traffic Growth

Sure, blogging may not be entirely free, as it does require an investment of your valuable time and energy. However, compared to shelling out big bucks for ads that may only reach a limited audience based on your ad budget, blogging offers a cost-effective way to drive traffic to your website.

With well-crafted content, you can attract organic traffic from search engines, social media shares, and referrals.

The best part? These visitors are genuinely interested in what you have to offer, making them more likely to convert into loyal customers.

Blogging Multiplies Your Social Media Content

One of the remarkable benefits of maintaining a blog is the content multiplication effect it has on your social media strategy. I’ve found that dedicating just one hour to create an Instagram post becomes a breeze when you can draw from a well of blog posts.

Instead of racking your brain for fresh social media ideas every day, you can repurpose your blog content into engaging carousels, eye-catching reels, static posts, or compelling stories. It’s like having a content treasure trove at your disposal, saving you time and ensuring your social media presence remains active and engaging.

Boost Your Confidence and Sales Skills

As an entrepreneur, your ability to communicate effectively about your business is key. Blogging offers you the opportunity to refine your written communication skills from various angles. The more you write about your business (its impact, its value, etc.) the more confident you’ll become in conveying your message, whether online or in person.

Think of it like practicing for a school presentation; the more you rehearse, the easier it becomes to captivate your audience. As you hone your blogging skills, you’ll find it much smoother to sell your products or services with conviction.

Build a Valuable Email List

Your email list is a goldmine for nurturing leads and turning them into loyal customers. With a blog, you can create a monthly newsletter that not only features industry tips but also includes your own insightful blog posts.

By positioning your blog as a trusted resource, you not only provide value to your subscribers but also convey your trust in your expertise. Trust begets trust, and when leads see that you believe in your content, they’ll be more inclined to trust your products or services.

You Don’t Have to Be a Wordsmith to Get Started

Now, here’s the best part: you don’t need to be the next Shakespeare to start a blog. All it takes is a keyword research tool, a willingness to learn from initial failures, and a vibey playlist to keep you motivated.

Plus, nowadays you have a wealth of AI-powered writing and editing tools at your fingertips.

AI Tools for Blogging

My personal favorite ways to use artificial intelligence as a content writer are:

Grammarly for proofreading

Capitalize My Title for headline optimization

Google Docs’ voice typing feature for hands-free writing

ChatGPT for organizing messy bullet points

These tools make blogging accessible to anyone, regardless of their writing level.

What We Covered

This one was short and sweet, because…if you’re not into it, you’re not into it. Don’t force yourself to start a blog if you’re not actually going to keep up with it.

But still, I’ll say blogging is a powerful tool that most modern entrepreneurs shouldn’t overlook. It not only accelerates your web traffic growth, multiplies your social media content, and boosts your confidence and sales skills but also helps you build a valuable email list and requires no special writing talent to get started.

So, what are you waiting for? Start blogging today, and watch your business flourish in ways you never imagined.
