Your esthetician website is more than just a digital storefront – it’s a hardworking member of your sales team and a content repurposing tool that powers your marketing efforts. When designed and written well, it can attract new clients, engage current ones, and save you time by answering common questions.

If I were an esthetician, I’d write my website with intention, ensuring it works as hard as I do to grow my business. Here’s how:

Speak Your Target Client’s Language

Your clients need to feel seen and understood from the moment they land on your site.

Age: Are you targeting teens with acne concerns or adults seeking anti-aging treatments?

Location: Use phrases or cultural references your local audience will connect with.

Generation: Millennials might respond to humor and trends, while Gen Z loves quick, direct messaging.

Local Subculture: Tap into the vibe of your area. In San Diego, for example, you might highlight “sun-kissed, beach-ready skin.”

When your words feel familiar to your target clients, they’ll trust you to deliver what they need.

Infuse Your Brand Voice

Your brand voice is your personality on the page. Whether you’re playful, empathetic, or scientifically precise, let that shine throughout your esthetician website.

A humorous voice might say, “Wrinkles are just happy memories—let’s soften them a bit.”

A scientific voice could emphasize, “Backed by proven results, our treatments target skin concerns at the cellular level.”
This helps differentiate your business from competitors and strengthens your connection with your audience.

Give Each Web Page a Unique Purpose

Keep your pages focused and intentional.

Home Page: Welcome visitors, highlight your unique value, and guide them to explore further.

Services Page: Detail your treatments with clear descriptions and pricing, if applicable.

About Page: Share your story to build trust and show clients why you’re passionate about skincare.

Contact Page: Make it easy for clients to book an appointment or reach out with a simple form or clickable phone number.

This structure makes it easy for clients (and search engines!) to navigate your site and find exactly what they need.

Write Attention-Grabbing Headings

Nobody wants to spend time on long paragraphs without context. Your headings should catch their eye and invite them to read more.

“Struggling with Dry, Dull Skin? Here’s How We Help.”

“Why Our San Diego Facial Is the Glow-Up You’ve Been Waiting For.”
Make them curious, excited, or confident about continuing to read.

Simplify Navigation with Hyperlinks and Buttons

Reduce friction by making it effortless to get where they want to go.

Use buttons that say things like “Book Your Free Consultation” or “Learn About Our Facials” and link directly to the relevant pages.

Avoid unnecessary clicks; everything they need should be no more than one or two steps away.

Use Punctuation to Mirror Natural Speech

Engaging punctuation keeps your copy approachable and conversational.

Parentheses (like this!) add asides that feel personal.

Dashes—perfect for breaking up thoughts—keep the flow casual.

Exclamation points! Bring energy and excitement.
The way you write should reflect how you’d speak to your clients in person.

Start with an Outline (and Get Help If You Need It)

Good writing doesn’t happen by accident. Start building your esthetician website with a clear outline to stay organized. And if you’re feeling stuck, don’t hesitate to bring in a writing coach who can help you shape your ideas, refine your voice, and create a website that truly reflects you.

Ready to Elevate Your Website?

If you want your esthetician website to work as hard as you do, I’d love to help. Book a Power Hour Coaching Call with me, and we’ll craft a website strategy that connects with your audience and turns readers into loyal clients.

If you’re a healthcare professional seeking a steady stream of clients or patients, you know the power of effective marketing. But with rising costs, paid ads aren’t always the best way to grow your healthcare practice. Here are some highly effective 2025 healthcare marketing tools that don’t require any ad spend. Ready to build brand authority and increase client flow organically? Let’s keep reading.

Capture & Share Testimonials on Social Media

Testimonials are powerful, especially in healthcare where trust is essential. Reach out to past clients or patients and ask for feedback on their experience with you. Once you have a few testimonials, create visually appealing posts and stories to share them across your social channels. Incorporate them into your Instagram stories and feed, Facebook posts, or LinkedIn updates. Doing this regularly builds social proof and attracts new clients who resonate with others’ positive experiences.

Build a Sales Funnel That Connects Instagram, Email, and Your Website

An effective sales funnel leads your potential clients from awareness to action. Start by connecting your Instagram to your website and email list with a clear call-to-action on your profile. Share valuable health tips, client success stories, or interactive posts on Instagram to keep followers engaged. Then, offer a freebie or resource on your website, like a wellness checklist, a training, or an ebook to capture emails. Finally, nurture your email list by providing value and showcasing services, leading to more client inquiries and bookings.

Use Consistent Branding Across Platforms

Consistent branding helps build familiarity and trust. Ensure your colors, logos, typography, and tone of voice remain cohesive across your website, emails, social media, and any physical materials. A well-defined brand feels reliable and professional, which is crucial in the healthcare industry. Aim for a clean, approachable look that reflects your values as a healthcare provider, whether that’s calmness, knowledge, or empathy.

Grow Your Healthcare Practice with Content Hooks

In a crowded digital space, first impressions are everything. Craft content hooks that stop the scroll and draw people in, like “Best Ways to Ease Stress – No Prescription Needed” or “This is the #1 Overlooked Health Mistake You’re Making.” These headlines are more likely to catch the eye and encourage engagement. Use a mix of formats like short tips, carousel posts, and infographics to maintain variety.

Address Your Target Client’s Questions and Challenges

Think about the most common concerns or questions you hear from clients or patients, and address these in your content. If your audience has questions about holistic treatments, share your insights in blogs, social posts, and emails. When you consistently provide value by answering relevant questions, you establish yourself as a trusted resource and become top-of-mind for clients when they’re ready to book a service.

Always Follow Up with Leads

If someone expresses interest in your services, follow up. Whether they inquired through your website, social media, or a phone call, a thoughtful follow-up can make a huge difference. Send a quick email or message thanking them for their interest, and gently remind them of how you can help. This simple gesture not only increases conversion but also shows that you care about their wellness journey.

Build a Professional Network of Like-Minded Practitioners

Networking with other practitioners is a smart way to expand your client base. Connect with other healthcare providers, wellness coaches, or fitness experts who complement your services. You can exchange referrals and even collaborate by co-publishing content or hosting events. Of course, if you want to invest in paid advertising for your events, that’s fine. Still, the advantage is that your networking skills will cover the cost of paid advertisting.

Switch Up Your Brand Voice Every Few Weeks

Adding variety to your brand voice can keep your audience interested in the midst of a highly distracting internet. If your typical tone is professional and clinical, try sharing more casual, conversational content every few weeks. This helps you connect with different segments of your audience and prevents your messaging from becoming stale. Experiment with storytelling, client spotlights, and even humorous posts to see what resonates best with your followers.

By implementing these non-paid marketing tools, you can create a sustainable and engaging presence that attracts new clients and keeps existing ones connected. With consistent effort and a clear strategy, your practice can thrive without needing to rely on ads.

Running a profitable business requires making a sufficient amount of sales in relation to the money your business spends to keep things running smoothly. Making sales consistently is made easier when you have a constant flow of leads that have a high potential of becoming paying customers.

How do you attract these leads and convince them to trust you enough to eventually pay you? If you have the right systems in place, you’ll see these processes become more natural over time.

This guide will introduce you to some reliable tactics for generating leads and converting them into customers.

What Is The Difference Between Lead Generation and Lead Conversion?

Between the two processes, lead generation happens earlier in your relationship with your audience. Overall, generating leads means turning prospects into leads. Some examples of lead generation are turning:

Website visitors into readers

Social media users into followers

Google Search users into email subscribers

After lead generation, there’s lead conversion. This takes place when the consumer (or another business) is paying your business. Lead conversion may also be referred to as sales conversion.

With this breakdown, you can see that your business doesn’t go very far if you’re not willing to invest some time and energy into your leads, even if certain ones never end up giving you any money.

Taking the initial risk is the only way to discover the type of people who will convert into customers.

Now, let’s look at various ways you can improve these processes within your business.

10 Ways to Improve Your Lead Generation and Conversion

Word-of-Mouth

Your reputation speaks volumes, and developing a standout reputation requires you to enhance the experience you’re offering your customer. Whether you have a brick-and-mortar business or an online business, be sure to make your customer’s experience a memorable one.

Create your service, product, or program in a way that’s focused on the needs and questions of the customer. Your customer is “me-centric” (they can’t help but put their needs first).

So, the more you align your mentality with your customer’s self-centeredness (I mean this in the most positive way possible), the more the customer will be willing to tell their friends and family about your business.

Long-Form Written Content

I highly recommend centering your content strategy around SEO-friendly blog posts. A well-nurtured blog will boost website traffic and build relationships with people who might not fully understand what you do (or how you see the world), based on your short-form social media posts.

Not sure where to start with blogging?

Choose your blog post topics using a keyword research tool

Make each post over 500 words long

Divide the various sections of your blog posts using H2 and H3 headings

If you’re about to build your website for the first time – or you’re tired of web hosting platforms like GoDaddy – use Bluehost with WordPress.

Long-Form Video Content

Our brains are naturally wired for facial recognition. The more you can show your face while delivering the messages that are most important to your brand, the more easily your audience will remember you.

The more memorable you become, the more your audience is likely to pay you as opposed to your competitor, when it comes time to make a purchase.

Automated Funnels

Whether you realize it or not, your business uses a sales funnel. Now, it may be a disorganized one, but it’s there nonetheless.

In the most basic sense, a sales funnel is a sequence of steps your lead has to take to become a customer. The more automated you can make your funnel, the more efficiently you can use your time as a business owner.

A great way to automate your funnel is by purchasing subscriptions for software that eliminate multiple steps from your daily workflow.

Which steps should you eliminate? Think of the small, repetitive, or behind-the-scenes steps that are required to stay organized and complete the bigger-picture steps like making a sale.

Allow technology to take some of these tasks off your plate. Doing this has the potential to eliminate human error while speeding up your lead conversion process.

Email Marketing

Email marketing provides a direct way of communicating with your leads within a digital space that’s less visually distracting than social media. Sending emails is a great way to build relationships, especially when you share non-sales email content.

Email marketing is also a prime opportunity for implementing an automated funnel as I mentioned above. With email software like ConvertKit, you can promote your products and services at a particular point in time, among specific segments of your audience.

Strong Branding

No, branding isn’t just about creating an attractive logo. It’s a prerequisite to starting your business, and it’s something you nurture throughout time. It encompasses an entire strategy that includes cohesive typography, colors, and messaging that helps you stand out from the crowd.

Think about it: If two businesses with similar offerings and price points ask you to shop with them, you’re going to pick the one with a stronger personality and visual presence.

With this customer point of view in mind, invest in your branding…as soon as possible!

Outsourcing

If you find yourself with more money than time – especially concerning your weak spots within the business – why not pay someone who can complete your projects more efficiently than you can?

Maybe you can’t quite figure out how to set up your email sales sequence or embed opt-in forms into your blog posts. There are plenty of studios, freelancers, and agencies out there who can save you from those headaches.

Some go-to platforms for hiring freelancers and agencies are:

Fiverr

Upwork

Contra

Breef

LinkedIn

KQ Writing Studio

Influencer and Affiliate Marketing

In short, influencers and affiliates are your spokespeople. Building a network of influencers and affiliates may be right for you if you want to distribute your product or program to larger communities that you ordinarily might not reach through your social media channels.

This goes back to the concept we started with: word-of-mouth. But instead of waiting for people to talk you up to their audiences, you are directly incentivizing them to do so.

To begin an influencer or affiliate program, you must be financially and logistically ready to pay these spokespeople a percentage of your revenue. If you choose your people wisely, “losing” that portion of your revenue won’t be losing at all.

Simplifying the Purchasing Process

Let’s face it. Sometimes your products, services, and programs are on point, but your checkout process is a hassle.

If your business relies on in-person checkouts: Do you have a staff member who has mastered the point-of-sale system to quickly help customers go on their merry way?

If you’re all about online checkouts: Are your links, buttons, and credit card processor working properly?

Whether you’re a freelancer or have an LLC, if your business relies on accepting client payments online, then you’re going to want HoneyBook. It’s one of the simplest client management systems for creating contracts, sending out invoices, and tracking your client payments.

Caring For Your Personal Wellness

We got the more technical stuff out of the way, so let’s quickly talk about wellness. The health and happiness of you and your team are of utmost importance when trying to generate more leads and make more sales.

As opposed to a business that pushes past unhealthy limits, a business that prioritizes personal wellness gets to experience fewer sick days, clearer minds, and more effective conversations with potential customers or clients.

With wellness at the forefront of your mind, you get to utilize your strengths and supplement your weaknesses with any of the above methods we discussed.

Wrap-Up: 10 Ways to Improve Your Lead Generation and Conversion

Lead generation and conversion are essential for running a profitable business in 2023 and beyond.

Start with these ten core ways (of many) to generate and convert leads:

Word-of-mouth

Long-form written content

Long-form video content

Automated funnels

Email marketing

Strong branding

Outsourcing

Influencer and affiliate marketing

Simplifying the purchasing process

Caring for your personal wellness

If a small business owner were to ask me, “How do I grow my audience?” I’d point them toward personal wellness, as well as technical skills.

For now, let’s look at the technical side, specifically, search engine optimization (SEO). Although there are other pieces to the puzzle, this post is all about on-page SEO.

On-page SEO encompasses the content that shows up on your website, as opposed to your behind-the-scenes SEO projects.

If I had to cut this blog post short, I would leave you with this: creating search engine optimized content means creating content that’s on-brand, Googleable, and reader-focused.

SEO content is on-brand, Googleable, and reader-focused.

You can take a big sigh of relief when you realize that your ideal audience has already created this content for you. You’re not pulling a problem out of thin air. Likewise, you’re not creating a solution out of thin air.

Your writing process is rooted in the public’s Google searches. This information is made available to you through keyword research tools, like Ahrefs and Moz.

On-Brand Blog Content

Staying on-brand includes what you say and how you say it (i.e. tone of voice). I’ll use some of my favorite small business owners as examples.

If I sold organic superfood desserts out of San Diego, I’m likely not going to research the keyword “Dallas brunch spots.” I’m also not going to write a blog post titled “How to Start a Cattle Farm.”

If I taught private drum lessons, I could write “5 Easy Steps to Assemble Your First Drum Kit,” instead of“5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Play the Drums.”

If I owned a window repair business, I could research keywords like “home maintenance” and “energy efficient windows.” If I’m known for my approachable and funny tone of voice, I could use the blog post title “3 Quick Ways to Clean Your Windows When You’d Rather be Watching Lord of the Rings,” instead of “How to Clean Your Windows.”

Going Off-Brand

Have you ever gone skydiving? What’s the difference between anti-gravity and zero-gravity?

Right now you’re probably wondering, “Is Kat glitching? I thought we were talking about blogging!” It’s kind of like sitting front row at an Andrea Bocelli concert, and all of a sudden you hear him singing “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. It could be fascinating, but you’re also like, “How did we get here?!”

I’m taking this silly moment to remind you — you don’t have to be dull or bland. Hold onto what makes your brand stand out from the crowd. However, if you want the Google algorithm to favor your website, you must stay on topic.

Going off-brand will confuse and repel your ideal audience.

That’s why you conduct keyword research. You eliminate guesswork, while strategically choosing a variety of keywords that all point to common themes and goals within your niche.

Googleable Blog Content

First, what makes content un-Googleable?

Misalignment with search intent.

“The last time I walked my dog I fell” is a highly unlikely search term. Google would not understand which problem needs to be solved. Do you need knee doctor? Non slip shoes? A dog walker? The intention is unclear.

People don’t conduct Google searches that way, so you shouldn’t position your content that way. Instead, create blog post titles and headings that match search intent. “Top 5 Ways to Strengthen Your Knees Without a Gym” or “7 Best Dog Walking Services for Busy Dog Moms” could work for this example.

Yes, you should still include creativity, context, and stories. That’s more so for the body of the text. Your titles and headings (which organize different sections of your blog post) get to be simple, based on search intent. This eliminates the excuses of “I’m not a good writer” and “I’m just not creative.”

Googleable content is to the point and connects real people with real solutions. It’s the type of content that both Google robots and your human readers appreciate.

Reader-Focused Blog Content

Ultimately, SEO is a means to an end. Yes, I enjoy the process. I’m glad if you do, too. Yet, the true purpose behind SEO skill development is people. We strive to improve our internet visibility in order to serve our people well.

Find your sweet spot between SEO-focused writing and relationship-building writing. Both can be professional. Don’t underestimate your readers. They will notice any attempts to hack the Google algorithm by overusing keywords.

Yes, prioritize keyword research, but also make sure you’re tending to your audience’s communication style. You have permission to dump a couple SEO rules here and there, if it means truly getting through to your audience.

Throughout this blog, you’ll see reminders to prioritize organic content within your marketing strategy. But before investing a bunch of time and energy into creating blog posts, videos, graphics, and social media captions, make sure you do this: know your brand.

Know Your Brand

Mindfully creating your brand allows you to sift through all the possibilities of how your business will show up for your audience. It helps you prioritize only the ideas that truly reflect who you are and where you’re going.

Warning — don’t fall into the vanity trap. Branding is more than choosing a color palette and designing an aesthetic logo. The reality of who you are as a business comes first, and the visuals come after.

How Do You Create a Memorable Brand?

Here are 4 thought-provoking question categories to help you know your brand:

Note: Think of your brand as “we,” “our,” and “us,” even if you’re the only person working in your business.

Who Is Our Target Audience?

Who is handing over their credit card?

Who is letting us (the business) into their lives?

If we could serve only one client/customer for the next five years, who would it be? Why?

What Is Our Highest Mission?

If we could leave one single mark on our community (whether digital or local), what would it be?

If ten years from now, the only evidence of our business were a 20-word sticky note written about us, what would we want it to say?

How are we changing the world around us?

What Do We Value?

What sort of business behaviors do we defend, and which ones do we avoid?

What makes the hard work of growing this business all worth it?

If everyone on social media started following us today, what’s the first message we’d want to post?

What Is Our Voice?

What kind of slang, abbreviations, or vernacular do we use?

How do we convey tone of voice through our writing?

Which unique personality traits come across through the way we say things everyone else in our niche is already saying?

Grab a journal or your favorite note-taking app to work out your answers to these questions.

I talk quite a bit about boosting your website traffic through SEO-friendly blogging. But let’s back up for a second. It is perfectly okay to have a website that does not rank on page one.

Yet, this blog is geared toward a more competitive, growth-oriented experience. I like to break it down this way:

Growing businesses begin website-ready and become Google-ready.

This especially speaks to new businesses with small audiences.

The journey of website-readiness involves deciding how you’re going to communicate through visuals, words, and your overall customer or client experience.

For example, as a blog ghostwriter, I can help a client move closer to page one, only if they’re already intimately familiar with their brand. There is no hacking Google, and there is no avoiding branding.

Do you have a website-ready business?

You know your brand and ideal audience well

Your copywriting, visuals, and user experience are on-brand

Your products or services are clear, deliverable, and valuable

The point of having a business website is to connect with potential customers or clients online. You build a presence online in order to form relationships and make sales.

How do you blast through your sales goals?

I could answer this from a financial angle, but let’s stay in the realm of branding for a bit longer. You reach and exceed your sales goals by spending time and energy on your brand values and behavior.

Two ideas stand out: ownership and framing.

It’s essential to own and frame the following:

your learning curve

your wins

your losses

your contributions to relationships

Properly owning and framing what happens within your life is empowering. It’s about maintaining an internal understanding of what you’re doing, the risks you’re willing to take, the way you want to show up in the world. It’s a matter of defining different aspects of your life, before letting others define them for you.

Incorporating this into your business is super energizing. With proper planning and perspective, you can leverage your reality to grow your audience and lead your ideal clients or customers in the desired direction.

This process is emotional, mental, and spiritual. It’s about mindset work. At the same time, it’s practical and hands-on.

The Reframe

If I own the fact that I am new in the world of ghostwriting, and I frame that as an opportunity to teach my audience what I’m learning, I can draw closer to my sales goals. Instead of shaming the fact that I am a newbie, I can own it humbly, yet, proudly. I then become more likely to hit the bull’s-eye on a client that is going to work well with me.

Because of the way I have portrayed myself, the client has realistic expectations of my services. I’m empowered to keep growing, and they’re empowered to make a judgment call with their time, energy, and money.

With this perspective, it’s less about forcing sales to happen and more about accurately representing who you are and what you offer within your market. Reframing your reality in a positive light or “upward spiral” kind of energy — we dig that!

This high-energy reframing gives you the freedom to have a couple key experiences. You get to start before you’re “ready,” in the conventional sense. You find yourself learning through real life experiences, which is often richer than reading or hearing alone.

Lastly, you get to speak to the heart of your audience, made of individuals who also go through real human experiences.

This is all about grounding your brand in response-ability. Repeat after me:

I am fully able to respond to any challenge, win, or loss.
